Today's prayer project ended up being an educational hour, led by the Lord. Last week I noticed many of the homeless were on the streets without gloves. So, I left today with the intention of giving these gloves, along with a meal and prayer, to someone on the street. I set out, praying for God to send me to someone. About 5 minutes later I saw a young man at an intersection. He was holding a sign... with gloved hands. I figured I would go around the corner to a nearby alleyway (which is a place I usually find people in need). Not today. There was no one in the alley. I immediately realized God wanted me to minister to the first person I saw (even though he already had gloves). I turned back but the young man was gone. I drove around the area for a while but could not find him again.
The lesson I learned is this; we must seize every opportunity we have to help someone ASAP. We do not know if the opportunity will ever arise again.
