This week's Biblical prayer is based on a question posed by Peter in John chapter 6, "Lord, who will we go to?" In this chapter, Jesus performs a miracle by feeding 5,000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, walks on water and calms a storm at sea, and is subsequently challenged to "give a sign to prove His worth." Jesus gives a lesson on the bread of life and many disciples turn their backs and leave Him. Notice the Bible does not say "random folks from the crowd" or "pious religious leaders" left Jesus that day, the Bible says many of Jesus' DISCIPLES left Him that day. Of the few who remained only Peter is recorded as answering Jesus when He asked them, "You don’t want to go away too, do you?” Peter's answer should be a representation of our attitude each and every day. To put it simply, now that Jesus has called me, I have no where else to go but Him. We need Him to navigate the pages of the Bible, survive the storms of life, and find provision in all circumstances.
