Here is our prayer list for August 2017:
Pray for peace and safety in our neighborhood. Last week we participated in our National Night Out celebration (it is the largest in the country) as usual, but, there were 2 stabbings and a heroin overdose as well, which is anything but usual.
Pray for peace in our ESL classes. We celebrated one our one year anniversary on Thursday and the classes are moving along well and growing in size, but, a man came through the classroom repeatedly yelling "Allah" (while pointing upward) and giving me the "thumbs down" sign while I was leading the class.
Pray for our church to continue to draw in visitors. We have been filling the seats lately but there is still room for more!
Praise and prayer for First Baptist Church in Monticello MN. I have had the honor of preaching there 3 times this summer.
Pray for all the children reached by our VBS last week. We met several new kids and had a few return from previous years.
Praise for the Texas mission team from Emmanuel Church in Weatherford TX. Dr. Bizzell plans and executes the most effective and efficient mission trips I have ever seen!
