Last night we were listening to my son's favorite Christmas CD "Mickey's Magical Holiday" (by the way-"Mickey" refers to Mickey Mouse). When the song "Do You Hear What I Hear?" came on my son got very excited and said, "Mom, this is a Jesus song!" My wife replied, "Yes it is." Antioch got even more excited and said, "I didn't know that Mickey loves Jesus!"
Here's the thing- there are plenty of us who love Jesus in this world, in this country, in your city. You may be surprised to find out that they do love Jesus; I don't mean to seem judgmental but people may be surprised to find out you love Jesus… Our behavior, and that of others, may not be so obvious. In fact our love for Jesus may have been overshadowed by our passion for politics and our concern for causes but somewhere deep down our love for Jesus still burns. Our love for Jesus bonds us together, with each other and with Him. Our love for Jesus beckons us to turn our eyes towards Him on good days and on bad days, in easy times and tough times, when we win and when we lose, when we are confident and when we are afraid. One thing is certain; singing songs about Jesus is a surefire way to know and to show that someone loves Him.
As sweet a blessing as this can be, do not wait to hear someone else sing. Show someone that you love Jesus today.
