Dateline: Minneapolis
I am done with PhD research and currently complying everything I have for my dissertation. Did you know that J. Frank Dobie once said, "The average PhD. thesis is nothing but the transference of bones from one graveyard to another."?
While I agree with this, having spent a lot of time digging up musical relics of the past for my project, I did discover something interesting amid these old bones.
The musicians I studied had all become born again Christians after they were famous and all of these musicians had three very important things in common-
1) they all had a Gospel seed planted in them when they were children
2) they all became aware of the fact that evil is real
3) they all had an individual person reach out to them and bring them back to the Lord
Many of the people I studied were considered to be the worst of the worst. But they got saved.
For us, it is important to learn from their testimonies; As Christians we can be instrumental in God's Kingdom work by doing these 3 things- planting Gospel seeds in children, warning people that the devil is real, rescuing lost sheep.
