"Passionately Seeking & Speaking the Love of Jesus"

     Dateline: beating back the devil

I can hit hard. For the past six years I have been studying Indonesian Martial Arts. The key component of this style is the stick. The stick has 100 numbers, some are strikes, some are positions, some are swings, some are combinations. There is deflection, flow, and bounce-back. I have memorized every number. I can do them with my eyes closed and go through all 100 easily as I imagine my would be opponents. I thought I had it all figured out, until my instructor gave me a horse.

An Indonesian Horse is a wood and rope monstrosity that caused my neighbor to exclaim, "What is that?" when I put it up in my backyard. It is meant for hitting with the stick. So after 6 years I finally got to hit something and I hit it hard. BLAM! Strike #1 takes a big chip off the horse. POW! #3 leaves a dent. CRACK! THWACK! #21 repeatedly reports right and left. BANG! #4 sends the horse shaking. Yup. I can hit hard. I surprised myself by how hard I can hit. After so much time knowing about the stick, I finally started putting it to use and I can hit hard.

Many of you reading this know a lot about the Gospel. You have favorite verses, Bible characters, memorized Psalms and Proverbs. You have what it takes to hit hard.

You just need to start swinging... KA-BLAM!!!
