Brothers and sisters, far too many of us are living lives of consternation instead of concentration. Fear and uncertainty have usurped faith and hope. Turning our eyes upon world events we find war, broken promises, mistrust, distrust, and dismay. As if the news of the world weren't enough, we all have problems of our own!
It is not easy to stay focused on the cross of Christ and His Great Commission but we must. "For such a time as this" we are have been called. No, it is not easy but it must be done. We must stand strong. We must trust & obey, there is no other way.
Too often I have envisioned the "Prince of Peace" as an ambassador to the Middle East or some other war torn foreign land. Occasionally I have prayed for Him to come to a bad house in our neighborhood.... far too often I forgot His mission of peace in the heart.
What sweet relief it is to know that Jesus wants peace in my heart. He wants to make peace in everyone's heart. Though it is a grand vision and our Christian duty to pray for peace in the heart of every person on the globe, we must never forget to plead for His peace in our own.
