"Imperfect people Serving a Perfect God"
Dateline: Minneapolis
I love the "little books" in the Bible. You know, the books that are only one chapter long; Obadiah, Jude, 2 & 3 John, and Philemon. When I began my quest to memorize Scripture I started with the little books (I am now @ 10 books plus some Psalms and currently working on Acts 7). These little books are too often overlooked. Their instruction and power is sadly unused by far too many of us. Here is an example for this week. Philemon 6 says, "I pray that your participation in the faith may become effective through knowing every good thing that is in us for the glory of Christ." Take some time and consider "every good thing that is in you for the glory of Christ." According to the Scripture it is necessary ingredient for a successful witness and testimony. How true! Think about how this will help us "love our neighbors as ourselves." Think about how this will lead to a "renewing of your mind." When we consider "every good thing that is in us for the Glory of Christ," will we not inevitably "set our minds on things above?"
That's it- I implore you to do as the Apostle Paul instructed in his "little book." For the Glory of our Lord and Savior, take some time today to know all that is good in you.
