My prayer today is for this pulpit... and I ask each one of you to pray for it too. Many a powerful sermon has been delivered from it in the past. Bob Edwards preached life changing sermons which were quoted long after the worship service ended. Bill Russell called on the church to anticipate miracles and the supernatural power of God from this pulpit. My prayer is to bring back the power of the Word of God preached in His church. For too long, in too many churches, we have seen the sermon relegated to nothing more than a product of a schedule. Instead it ought to be the time when the Word of God gains full access into the realm of the hearts of human beings who are hungry for holiness.
What's my plan? Acts 6:4, devoting myself to prayer and the preaching ministry. How? By memorizing and meditating on Scripture.
