"Imperfect people Serving a Perfect God"
Dateline: Phillips West
A Gallup poll released yesterday revealed that 75% of Americans are "dissatisfied with the direction the USA is headed." Interestingly, this is about the same percentage of people who claim to be Christian in our nation. Now, I am not implying that all Christians agree with the Gallup poll but there certainly must be some overlap which leads me to ponder three things:
As a Christian I often hear people refer to the relevance of end time Scriptures in today's world. Since we know this is the direction the world is headed (much less the USA), should I really be dissatisfied?
As a Christian I should be reassured that despite numerous changes in our legislature, culture, and country people still seek to fill that "God shaped hole" in their hearts. In other words- human beings cannot cure what truly ails humanity.
As a Christian we should be motivated to share the Gospel. Even while we are at what seems to be the peak of a post-modern and post Christian age, we have something to offer that no one else can- hope for a better future.
