Today I prayed with Sandra. You may remember her name from an earlier post when I prayed with her boyfriend, James. I did experience joy in speaking face to face with her, as expressed in the Epistles of John. This was truly a spur of the moment (better yet spur of the Spirit) encounter/ I was running errands and the Lord told me to go to 38th street. I was not in uniform and didn't have my camera but I was prepared to pray and had a few pre-packed meals and water in my car. Sandra asked for prayer for her health (she has diabetes and skin cancer- she showed me the spot of cancer on her face; she got skin cancer from standing outside on the streets...) and for permanent residence (she will hear back from a place this week). I prayed for her on the street and told her you all would continue to pray for her.
My visit with Sandra has me thinking about how best I can minister to people on the streets. Perhaps I need to build up the gifts to include "street essentials" like sunscreen? Please pray that God grant me the wisdom to be as effective as possible as I minister to these beautiful souls.
Since I didn't have my camera with me today, I'll post this picture of the "prayermobile."
