This week's Biblical prayer is Esther 4:14b "Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.” This quote is from Mordecai as he gave this message thorough a messenger to Esther. I know this is not a pray-er in the Bible but that does not mean we shouldn't be pray-ing it. Esther needed to act in order to save her people, if she were to remain silent (and comfortable on the queen's throne) her people would perish. Was it a risk for Esther to speak out? Yes! She realized that she may even die for speaking up... A similar situation is presented in pop culture via a conversation between Gandalf and Frodo in LOTR: Frodo: I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened. Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.
Here is the point- God has given you life today; not to pine for the glory days of yesteryear or wait silently for the fate of the future. Also both Esther and Frodo needed someone else to remind them of this truth- I pray I am that person to you all today. The only way you will only make the most of today is by making a difference today.
