I took a shot at putting us in the books as the Guinness World Record holder for "the loudest church in the world." A response I received today says, "Dear Rev Jacob Rock, Thank you for your application to attempt the record 'The Loudest Church in the World'. Currently, Guinness World Records cannot accept your proposal for this as a new record category. However, we have searched our Record Database and identified a similar record, which may be well suited to your record-breaking aims. We hope that you are interested in attempting this record category. This record is: 'Loudest woop by a crowd'."
With all due respect, loudest woop is not the same thing as loudest church. All things considered, I can with confidence say that we are indeed the loudest church in the world.
Here is our prayer request list for July 2013:
Pray for our block. There has been a huge increase in drug dealing in the neighborhood surrounding the church building. Many of the immigrant families are fearful as this increase has led to a decrease in their quality of life. Pray that God would put a stop to the illegal activity by clearing out the bad spirits and filling the void with good spirits.
Pray for the busy month ahead- day camp, construction, and VBS are all coming up! We have teams from Iowa, Illinois, and Texas coming!
Praise for the wedding of Brandon and Katie.
Pray for our members to seed, for me to water, and for God to grow this church!
