"Imperfect people Serving a Perfect God"

Dateline: The day that He has made

Recently I was walking around the lake with Antioch and the weather was perfect. There was hardly a cloud in the sky, the breeze was just right, and the glory of God in nature was on full display. The conversation was perfect, too. Antioch was talking to everything he saw as I recited books of the Bible from memory. As we neared the end of our walk I was struck by a "mini-revelation." I perceived that God had made this day just for me. Suddenly the awareness of the presence and closeness of God was unmistakable. Why? because God does make the day just for me... and He does the same for you.

An old cliche goes something like this; something bad happens to you (you discover a scratch on your car, a higher than expected electric bill, you get stuck with a difficult co-worker, etc.) and when reflecting on this event you say (sarcastically), "That just made my day." Well, brothers and sisters, God makes our days not circumstances. Matter of fact, it is pretty easy to read beginning of the Bible and be amazed by all God created for Adam and Eve and forget that He did the same for you today!

So, what is going to make your day today? A family dispute? the loss of a job? A political disagreement? The driver next to you on the highway? A newpaper article that rubs you the wrong way? Your home team's horrible performance? Illness? Loneliness? Fear? Or your Heavenly Father, The Lord God Almighty?

He made this day. Rejoice and be glad in it.
