"Imperfect People Serving a Perfect God"

Dateline: The Tropospherere

As I continue my reign as "King of the Undergrads" my latest trial has been in the realm of chemistry. Although I have found the class to be boring (no offense to you lab lovers out there, it is just not my thing) I did discover one remarkable fact that I would like to share with you. I discovered it while studying the lesson on what comprises the earth's atmosphere and the air we breath. Our textbook states that, "Each time we take a breath our lungs will take in 4 x (10 to the 19th power) molecules that have been breathed by another person. In fact, the odds are very good that your lungs contain one molecule that was in Julius Caesar's last breath."

Suddenly this Scripture came to mind: Luke 23:46 And Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into Your hands I entrust My spirit." Saying this, He breathed His last.

Then I realized that I am always breathing in at least one molecule from the last breath Jesus Christ exhaled while He died for us on the cross... How much more personal does God seem to you now?

By the way, when I shared my insight with my brilliant bride, she told me that a professor had taught her class this fact and used the breath of Jesus as his example. It is the "preacher's touch" in me that uses the last breath of Christ and the imagery of the cross.

Take a deep breath. Be blessed today. God loves you so much
