Up from the grave He arose, with a mighty triumph o'er His foes....
This Sunday, churches around the world will commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Although the birth of our Lord and Savior seems to garner more attention each Christmas season, let us never underestimate the importance and significance of the day Jesus walked out of His borrowed tomb... the world had never seen anything that blessed "third day."
He arose a victor from the dark domain and He lives forever with His saints to reign...
Did you know that shortly after the earthly ministry of Jesus, Christianity became so popular the Greek poets altered their stories to make their heroes seem comparable to the Son of God? Think about this- all the legends of Greek mythology and their storied tales could not compare. An example would be Protesilaus, who's story was written in such a manner that he had "2 resurrections" (the author of his tale realized his hero could never compare to the Son of God and, as such, felt the only way to "compete" was to write that his hero did what Jesus did, twice).
He arose! He Arose!
Jesus' resurrection is real. It is not the figment of an author's imagination. Witnessed by hundreds when it happened and experienced by billions since it happened, Jesus is risen.
Hallelujah, Christ arose!
