This week I went in for my annual wellness exam; something I have been required to do for the past 6 year or so for our health insurance. In my experience, the advances in convenience for these exams have been amazing. A few years ago I had to make an appointment with a doctor, get several vials of blood drawn from a vein, and wait a week or so for results. Last week I just walked into a CVS, got a small pin prick in my finger and got the results back instantly. Sure blood pressure, heartbeat, height and weight are recorded but the blood work is the main thing. The amount of information we get from a few drops of blood is astonishing. The blood work tells the tale….Blood is life.
We often sing about being washed in the Blood of Jesus or being covered in His Blood. But the truth is one single, solitary drop of the Savior's blood contains everything that would ever be needed to save the souls of every single person ever born. One drop of Jesus' Blood would have been enough to cover every sin- past, present and future. One drop of our blood provides all the information we need. One drop of Jesus' Blood gives all the salvation we need.
