I hope you all had a great Easter/resurrection Sunday/Pascha/etc.. As Shakespeare wrote, "What's in a name? that which we call a rose. By any other name would smell as sweet." There is no name sweeter than Jesus and when we are celebrating Him, the reason for the day is far more important than what we call it.
Speaking of Sunday, it was, of course, one of my busiest of the year. My son, Antioch, could sense the excitement among the chaos in our home. Matter of fact, he got so "hyped up" (this was perhaps aided by an influx of sugar) that he began to verbalize a constant stream of seemingly random thoughts. "Who is going to be at church tonight?" "Can I have more jelly beans?" Where's grandma?" On and on he went. Of course, this was happening right about the time we needed to get ready for church so I stopped him (albeit briefly) and asked him to listen to me for just a moment. His response," But dad. It's too hard to listen right now. I am trying... but my mouth is too full of words."
Sisters and brothers, I trust you all see the connection to prayer I learned from my son that day.
