News Hope Weekly 3/11/15

I recently read a newspaper article about a young woman who decided to pursue her dream of going to law school and thus provide for herself a fulfilling and recession proof career.

She graduated from school and quickly found work at a law firm. Her daily tasks involve preparing for various court cases and trials by doing research, data entry, and paperwork. She earns a decent wage and has great benefits but otherwise the majority of her work is pointless and unsatisfying. Why? Because 9 times out of 10, the cases for which she has done the prep-work never come to fruition. Most of them are settled out of court. Some are dropped entirely.

So, the newspaper article went on to describe how this young woman had become concerned with her purpose at the law firm and now simply sees her "dream job" as vapid and useless.

It saddens me to think how widespread this "syndrome" is in our culture; people spending a whole lotta time on a whole lotta nothing.  It saddens me even more to think that so many pastors and ministry leaders lead the charge in such "busywork."

Please, I implore you today, wherever you are and whatever you do- make it worthwhile. Do it as unto the Lord.

Above all else, bless the Lord by taking the time to let Him grow you Spiritually, to "prune what needs to be pruned." and to be certain that tomorrow you will know Jesus better than you do today.
