Dateline: Psalm 57:1
I want to thank all of you for your prayers. Last month I noted in our prayer request list that I had had some blood tests taken for a routine physical exam and had high triglycerides and liver enzymes show up in the results. I asked for prayer that the numbers would go down and God answered! I got my new results on Friday and everything is fine.
I am so thankful. The Dr. was very concerned with the first set of test results and had mentioned the possibility of liver cancer (which pretty much scared the life out of me). I spent time in prayer and fasting after the first results and had the church lay hands and pray over me, too (in addition to putting the request out to you). The pastor's wife from La Hermosa Church even gave me a word (Psalm 57:1) that she said the Lord had given her for me (talk about "coincidence"). I taped the note she gave me to the bathroom mirror to remind me to stay under the shadow of God's wing until this danger passed. Heck, I even used oil to anoint my liver in prayer. I also became much more cautious as to what I ate and drank (no more living like a teenager). As I awaited the day of the second test, I thought a lot about God's promises and plans for me. Needless to say, I was nervous but something deep inside told me it was going to be okay. However, I will admit my greatest fear was being diagnosed with liver cancer and that fear consumed many hours.
Looking back over the ordeal, I can say a few things with deeper confidence. God listens to prayers and He heals, we can trust Him. God has placed doctors here to help us, we can trust them.
I give God all the praise for everything that happened. For putting the right doctors and prayer warriors in my path and for the healing. I am glad I can honor God with this testimony and thank Him for working in my life.
Also, if you are reading this and have not had blood-work done recently, please do so. Take it from me it is not something to be overlooked and you just might find yourself closer to God as a result- I know I did.
I will be preaching at Bethel Baptist Church in Sunfish Lake, MN this Sunday. The service starts at 10:30AM. After this Sunday I will be taking some time off.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
Jake
