Please pray for me to be successful in my New Year's resolution list (and I need your help with #3):
1) To "be myself" when delivering sermons... Any wily veteran can tell you that this is probably one of the main qualities one possesses when initially called to preach. Unfortunately years of service and education do shape a person. I am not saying those things are bad, they just should never overshadow the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
2) To continue to "equip the saints." My first saint in 2014 is our worship leader... She is a mom, Bible college grad., full-time worker, and my wife. I have already been seeking advice on how to be effective here.
3) To add more monthly visitations to my schedule... This means that any of you who would like to have me over, meet for coffee, etc. just need to let me know a week ahead of time and I will be there.
4) To host a social event at the church or my home at least once per. month.... The inauguration is tomorrow at 5PM.
5) To pray that the church would be an evangelist to the Phillips West neighborhood.
