Prayer Project

Today I went to the Minneapolis Police 3rd precinct to pray. The 3rd precinct covers the largest geographical area of any in the city. Inspector Mike Sullivan commands the 3rd and is a man of God. I prayed for safety, wisdom, courage and compassion for the officers (the MPD motto is, "To protect with courage. To serve with compassion"). I prayed for their presence to be a positive force in our city. I also recalled a story I had heard about a city in Columbia that was once overrun by crime but the Gospel message transformed that city to the point where they no longer needed a police force. Could you imagine that kind of peace in our cities? God can!
